420 On The Block – Denver, CO
Still need plans for 420? We got you, fam! Check out the biggest 420 party in Denver, a three-day festival celebrating Colorado’s cannabis culture: 420 On The Block. This event includes two music stages, live artists and immersive art installations, food trucks, drinks, cannabis-related activism and education, as well as a 420 Bazaar marketplace with a carnival-based challenge offering up to $5,000 in prizes. Whether you’re a local or from out of town, come spend the holidaze in the most proper way possible!
The music lineups are stacked! A great mix of electronica, bluegrass, funk and reggae to appease any genre preference. Friday night includes Break Science Live Band (including members from Lettuce), Mikey Thunder, a staple DJ in the Colorado music scene, and members of the Pretty Lights Movement such as Michal Menert, Supervision and Chris Karns.
The act I’m most looking forward to seeing Friday night is Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe presents “Eat A Bunch of Peaches,” a tribute to the Allman Brothers Band. Saturday includes performances from Tnertle, a wildly engaging and local electronica funk band; Kitchen Dwellers, one of my personal favorite bluegrass bands; Washed Out, for all of the chillwave-loving Denver hipsters; and, finally, a headlining act from Action Bronson to end the evening.
Save some energy for Sunday, because the musical lineup includes lots of soul and reggaeton performances from the beautiful Nattali Rize, RDGLDGRN, Protoje and the one and only Matisyahu! Make sure you check out the event page for the full lineup, which includes after parties as well!
The event will be at the Fox Street Compound, located just north of downtown Denver. I’m looking forward to checking out the 420 Bazaar, which is essentially a cannabis-themed flea market. This market space, by the way, is open and free to the public. Come peruse products from some of the best local cannabis companies, as well as a wide range of CBD and hemp product retailers!
Ticket options include three-day general admission for $59, single day passes for $25, and three-day VIP tickets for $175, which includes access to a private bar, private Port-o-Lets, side stage private viewing area, six drink tickets and a swag bag! I can’t wait to unleash my munchies upon the food trucks and dance around with like-minded people! Oh, and did I mention Lagunitas Brewing Company is the beer sponsor for the evening? This event is the total package, so don’t sleep on getting tickets—they might be gone before you know it!
