Canna-Daddy’s Wellness Center Dispensary – Portland, OR
The DOPE crew took the party to outer SE Portland this month, visiting one of the neighborhood’s first dispensaries. Starting out as an OMMP Medical dispensary in 2014, Canna-Daddy’s quickly set themselves apart with their huge flower selection, as well as their fantastic prices and specials. When we stepped into their new location—conveniently across the street from their old building—we were welcomed into a warmly decorated space with natural wood walls, fantastic artwork and a bank of iPad menus to browse. These iPads also detail some cannabis basics, perfect for new consumers who may need a brief cannabis 101 lesson.
The flower at Canna-Daddy’s is all pre-packaged to ensure freshness, minimize waste and ensure absolute cleanliness. The store shelves are labelled and organized to represent varying tiers of quality, from the best top-shelf offerings in the state on their Connoisseur shelf to the more budget-minded products on the other side of the showroom. And they always have over 170 different strains available! There’s also a full line of edibles, vape cartridges and smoking accessories, including products from in-house partners Blaze (oil cartridges), HUSH (extracts) and Deadhead (gummies).
Canna-Daddy’s is located in an area of Portland that serves a wide clientele. Talking with owners Christine and Brad—referred to as Canna Momma and Canna Daddy, respectively—they explain it’s their ties to the community, above all else, that gives them the most joy. “It’s important we give back,” Brad explains. “We are nothing without our customers, and sometimes those customers fall on hard times. We want to be able to provide for them.” Every year the company sponsors families in need throughout the holiday months and runs a huge food drive; last year they gave away over 100 turkeys around Thanksgiving, and the 24 Days of Budness during the Christmas season is all about giving back to their customers. If you’re looking for a compassionate dispensary with the largest selection in town, all you gotta ask is, “Who’s your Daddy?”
