Avengers: Endgame (2019)
I’m not going to follow the normal suit for reviewing “Avengers: Endgame.” The greatness of this movie really stems from the weaving in of past Marvel movies into one epic saga that should leave Avengers fans feeling completely satisfied, while also shedding a few tears.
There isn’t much of a way to dive too deep into the storyline without giving too much away, but what we can say will give you an idea of what to expect.
Endgame picks up right where its predecessor, “Avengers: Infinity War” left off. The galactic sociopath Thanos, now possessing all of the infinity stones, has just snapped his fingers, reducing 50% of the universe’s population to mere dust. The audience relives the moment from the end of “Infinity War” through different points of view that bring this act of terror to life in a truly eerie and terrifying way.
The film quickly jumps to 5 years later where the world is still reeling from the sudden and shocking loss of so many people. The remaining Avengers weren’t immune to the heartbreak of losing their loved ones at the hand of Thanos and have resorted to unsavory lifestyles.
They soon learn the whereabouts of Thanos and quickly gather back up to capture him and to recover the infinity stones in hopes of bringing back the people the world lost.
And that’s about all I can tell you without spoiling this amazing film.
Avengers: Endgame does an amazing job to settle scores, wrap up loose ends, give the audience a good laugh – and cry – and ultimately take a well-deserved victory lap as one of Marvel’s most impressive franchises.
