Dutch Valley Farms – Estacada, OR
Florida, Texas and Oregon — states spanning the country in an unlikely threesome, are bringing people together as Dutch Valley Farms. Representing Florida is Anthony Palacio, DJ & CPA, who was drawn into the world of cannabis when he discovered it as an effective medical treatment for his son’s autism. His entrepreneurial soul launched the business, which he owns and manages as COO. MJ Ayerbe, a Texan creative director,is building their cannabis identity, from defining their social media presence to acting as their communication liaison. Head Grower Jonathan Langston lives on-site in Oregon with a three-second commute from house to greenhouse. He’s a bundle of energy and excitement that he says comes from loving the life he’s living.
Dutch Valley Farms is located on seven acres of a retired Christmas tree farm, where the “rule of three” theme continues. At the center of the farm, you can see Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams and Mt. St. Helens all at the same time! Cisterns holding up to 20,000 gallons of collected rainwater from the greenhouse roof can fill up in only three weeks’ time in the winter. Any runoff is diverted to irrigate what will become a future Dutch Valley vegetable garden, complete with hardworking chickens to aid in composting their coconut coir planting medium, which includes spent cannabis plants.
Dutch Valley Farms focuses on “Classic Car” strains — potent, tried-and-true old school varieties like Romulan, Diesel Kush and Gorilla Glue. Langston moved to Portland to pursue a degree from the Oregon College of Art & Craft and is a true believer in craft cannabis. Loving and respecting the hands-on process of growing craft cannabis is what’s importantto him. They grow solid, strong and reliable strains, the kind you’d want to take into a fight with you … if they were friends, not plants, and you were heading into a fight! Anyway, DVF buds are heavy-hitters, grown with respect for a purpose, terpene-rich and ready to tackle pain, elicit euphoria or get you going — maybe even all three!
