High West Cannabis: A Sophisticated Wild West Vibe

Nestled conveniently off the highway in the Northeast suburbs of Denver, High West Cannabis is a bright and welcoming recreational dispensary with a modern cowboy aesthetic—a true ode to the Rocky Mountain lifestyle. The shop is connected to a recently renovated, 12,000 square foot warehouse, transformed into a brand new cultivation space for the company. This is a great location to visit on your way into town from the airport, and the ideal dispensary to bring an out of town friend or family member. Once you make the trip, you’ll remember they’re there forever.

I was impressed by the premium retail options available at High West. As a big fan of concentrates, I was glad to see brands such as Ascend, Cannabis Maximus and Evolab on the shelves. I’m highly anticipating the flower they’ll be yielding at the beginning of May. The first of the fire to hit the shelves will be Sour Tangie and Super Silver Haze, followed by later harvests of Death Star, Wifi OG and Blue Dream. Their plants are proudly grown in Coco (all-natural coconut fibers) with House and Garden Nutrients, and are never sprayed with harsh chemicals.

The team at High West Cannabis is bar none. We were greeted by Steve Sutton, EVP of Operations for High West Cannabis, who was happy to sit and chat with us while we waited for our turn in the shop. Sutton will be overseeing the garden, ensuring its immunity to spider mites and mold with his unprecedented level of cultivation skills. It’s clear he holds a standard for excellence, even after spending only a few minutes talking to him about the company’s role as an up-and-coming grow facility. High West Cannabis’ goal is to bring the highest quality products to the wholesale and retail cannabis market.

Melissa was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, where she couldn’t stay out of trouble for smoking weed--especially during college. Immediately after graduating with a business degree from Elmhurst College in 2012, Melissa made her way to the safe smoking haven of Colorado, where her love for live music and music blogging eventually led her to a part-time writing position with DOPE Magazine. Melissa enjoys medicating with indica-dominant hybrids, and will never say no to a big solventless glob. When she isn’t busy writing, Melissa loves spending her time in the mountains with friends, practicing her violin, and exploring the never-ending amounts of dank breweries and restaurants in Denver.
