Level Up – Scottsdale, AZ
Slightly off the beaten path, Level Up sits tucked away on the second floor of a shopping district in the Scottsdale Airpark. The play on words didn’t escape me as I entered the cozy boutique. Clean lines of dark wood ran to meet smooth, blue-gray walls offset by brilliant white marble, trimmed by elegant accent lighting. Charmed by the blend of vintage elements mixed with modern design, I felt comfortable and relaxed in the almost-timeless environment. “We wanted to create something that was masculine, yet refined. . . a place you’d be proud to take your mom or your sister [to],” states Marketing Director Jenna Urusky.
Inspired by parent company KIND Concentrates, Level Up had modest beginnings and has since grown to nearly 60 employees over the last two years. Seeing an average of 250 patients daily, of which 20-40 are new to the store, a second location has been slotted to land in Tempe. But despite their rapid growth, they’ve always aimed to deliver an elevated experience, to be a level up in service and in quality. “We’re philosophically committed to letting the patients decide what the best product is,” asserts Jenna. “Finding ways to partner with our patients is what sets us apart. [This includes] support groups, reaching out to retirement communities, offering delivery service, working with local law enforcement . . . [and] we’re looking to make some big changes on the technological side, to make things easier and more accessible, including online ordering, advanced testing [and] strain subscription.”
Easily one of the best flower menus in the state, their tiered system features 50 plus options, including Road Dawg, Arnold Palmer and Astro Mint—the space weed! A freezer at every pod ensures maximum vitality of their vast concentrate line and fridges keep their edibles fresh, featuring new brands like Auntie Dolores and Trokie. With something for everyone and new products on the way (including their new vape series and Ultra Oil Stix), I can’t wait to land back at Level Up!
