What happens in Jamaica, stays in Jamaica. On Sunday, August 16, pop icon Madonna celebrated her 62nd birthday at an undisclosed location in Jamaica with a plate full of cannabis and a spliff. It was the perfect way to spend a relaxing vacay in the idyllic Caribbean island.
Madonna was joined by her children, as well as her 26-year-old boyfriend Ahlamalik Williams and EDM music producer Diplo. Madonna’s children include Lourdes Leon, 23, David Banda, 14, Mercy James, 14, and twins Estere and Stelle, 7. In addition, Madonna’s eldest son, Rocco Ritchie, who was not immediately pictured in Jamaica, celebrated his 20th birthday only days before Madonna’s birthday.

The first post of four photos depicted the Queen of Pop with a spliff in her mouth, holding a plate of cannabis with three packs of rolling papers—as though she was about to roll a few more spliffs after that. Madonna is normally quiet about cannabis use in the limelight.
Jamaica was relatively late to end barriers to recreational cannabis use, compared to other parts of the world, notably many U.S. states. However, the tiny island country decriminalized small amounts of cannabis for personal use in 2015.
Two years ago, Kaya Herb House became the island’s first dispensary after receiving a number of permits from Jamaica’s Cannabis Licensing Authority.
Madonna revealed last April that she had tested positive for COVID-19 antibodies, but otherwise appears to be in good health.
Recently, singer Dua Lipa unveiled a new remix of her song “Levitating” feat. Madonna and Missy Elliott. Unfortunately, however, the video did not include Madonna.
