Priscilla Vilchis, CEO of Reina and Premium Produce – a company with a diverse staff, is putting the health and safety of medical cannabis patients at the forefront of everything they do. Vilchis has earned some serious clout in the high desert. Not only is her cannabis dank, but she’s also one of the youngest and first-ever minority female CEOs to be awarded licenses to cultivate and produce cannabis in Nevada. Working previously within the healthcare industry in California, Vilchis saw the effects of pain medication abuse and was inspired to plant her roots in Nevada for the chance at getting a license – which came to fruition in 2014. Determined to go big or go home, Vilchis took four long years ensuring that Reina remained self-funded, without drama from contractors and corporate interest.

The Garden

When Vilchis received her medical and recreational licenses in 2014, she acquired two back-to-back buildings and fused them together to create what is now the 25,000 square foot garden facility that is Reina. With five operational cultivation rooms, the building features state-of-the-art environmental controls which allow for airflow, humidity, temperature control, irrigation and light monitoring. “Equipment, maintenance and cleanliness keeps our cultivation at the highest of standards,” says Frank Cabrera, Reina’s cultivation manager.

The Product

The flower at Reina is unquestionably some of the best bud in Nevada. Their curing process is remarkably refined for the dry desert climate, allowing their end product to be surprisingly sticky, fragrant and staggeringly potent. You really can’t go wrong in selecting any of their twelve, world-class strains like Ghost Train Haze, Venom OG, Wedding Cake or Pineapple Upside Down Cake (available exclusively at Planet 13). The brand itself is chic and high end, catering to those looking only for the crème de la crème. “We have built the most luxurious cannabis brand in Las Vegas and, we’ve got the THC and terpenes to back it up,” remarks Vilchis. Reina’s future plans include increasing their genetic lineup with strains including Tangie and Green Crack, as well as a Reina CBD line.
