Serra, a high-end dispensary in Portland, OR will open its Downtown location Saturday morning as one of the first state-approved recreational marijuana dispensaries. October 1st marks the start of the new recreational program in Oregon and a number of new policies monitored by the Oregon Liquor Control Commission. Serra Downtown (220 SW 1st) has also been approved for recreational license by the City of Portland
“Our doors will proudly open at 10 AM Saturday morning,” said Cambria Benson, Brand Director for Serra. “As one of the first licensed recreational dispensaries, there is a lot of responsibility knowing we will be introducing new consumers to cannabis. We aim to do so by offering a new kind of dispensary experience. With our brightly designed and upscale stores tended by docents who understand our prod- ucts, we work closely with clients to get the desired feeling they seek through our ‘feel all the feelings’ approach.”
By providing the best quality products and the most artful shopping experience, Serra is breaking stereo-types associated with the cannabis culture by introducing new consumers to marijuana in a non- intimidating, education-centric manner.
After a detailed inspection and permitting procedures, Serra met all of it’s licensing requirements and is leading the change to recreational cannabis and elevating industry standards as a whole.
“It has been a long and arduous process to get through the myriad of licensing requirements, but we are honored to be among the first licensed recreational dispensaries in Oregon,” said Benson.
Among the changes customers will see are a reduced tax rate of 17% (currently 25%), the ability to buy in significantly greater quantities than under retail sales at medical dispensaries, new testing and labeling guidelines, and increased concentration limits on edible products.
Serra Downtown will open at 10 AM Saturday. The store is located at 220 SW 1st between Oak and Pine.
