Solful – Sebastopol, CA
The lovable town of Sonoma County’s Sebastopol houses Solful, a community oasis. It’s a short drive from Santa Rosa and Marin County, open for recreation and easy to find on Highway 116. Located within a shopping center, it’s accessible and boasts ample parking. I was welcomed by consultants’ bright smiles as I approached Solful’s door. The shop is full of natural light, local art and farmstead flair. Solful allows visitors to browse shelves with leisure; consultants are available to guide customers toward products or open cannabis jars for a sniff.
Solful’s Grand Opening was in November 2017 after years of planning and a delay following the Sonoma County fires. The staff focused outreach efforts on their affected community. “We believe that cannabis can help people lead healthier, richer lives. We’ve seen this come true with our own families and friends. And this is why we founded Solful—to cultivate health and happiness in our community,” remarks Eli Melrod, CEO and co-founder of Solful. “We don’t recommend anything we wouldn’t give someone we love.” I watched guests flood in, and consultants were on a first-name basis with many of them. Cannabis lifestyle conversation filled the room, something I haven’t experienced at other dispensaries where time is more linear, spent waiting in line rather than exploring the store.
Solful makes “just-for-you experiences” possible through product arrangement. A display table presents relief requests as a guide for choosing products to aid pain, anxiety and insomnia. Flower Daze Farm was featured as farm of the month during our tour; their Key Lime Pie is an Emerald Cup winner. Another eye-catching herb was Mary Chino, grown by PolyKulture. Immaculately displayed products by AbsoluteXtracts, Chemistry and Om Edibles, to name a few, graced the shelves. Solful also recommends a variety of hash, ranging from the innovative Guild Extracts to old-school cold water from Nasha and Dirt Ninja Farm.
