With help from their merchandise partners Higher Standards, new products are featured every few months to keep their selection fresh and bring new options to customers. The open floor plan encourages interaction with their knowledgeable wellness consultants and budtenders, rounding out a pleasant visit with amicable customer service. “Consumer education is very important to us, and we are always offering opportunities in-store to learn more about cannabis and the cool accessories that surround this plant,” shares Nick Danias, managing partner of The Pottery.
The dispensary features an exceptional variety of cannabis edibles, flower, concentrates, disposables, topicals and other cannabis medicine. Their best-sellers in high demand include Dosist’s 50-hit disposable dose pen, any of their Papa & Barkley topicals and Fade Co.’s White Buffalo flower, an exotic, consistent, sativa-dominant hybrid (Romulan x Blackberry Kush and Bay 11). Many of the strains they carry are Clean Green certified. The Pottery’s overall attention to quality is evident in its product selection. Their large case of disposable vapes stood out to me, stocked with exceptional variety and many of the latest high-end brands.
Los Angeles itself plays muse to the bright, modern aesthetic of this dispensary, inside and out. The Pottery opened in March 2018, and since then has aspired to create a comfortable, familiar space for its customers. Danias wanted to cheer things up with bright pop art and slim neon lighting that emphasizes the special arrangement of each case on the floor. As Danias notes, “Historically, dispensaries [were] dark and closed off. It was important to me that this felt bright, colorful and accessible … I wanted consumers to feel comfortable when they enter the space, like it’s familiar, similar to a neighborhood coffee house.” The shop’s “fine art” feel is enhanced by the presence of art books by graffiti artist KAWS and pop artist Keith Haring.
